Frequently Asked Questions
In this section, we have included the most frequently asked questions that often keep you up at night before getting a tattoo in our studio. If you have other issues that have not been addressed here, feel free to contact us via the contact form, by phone, or by email.
1. Do I have to be of legal age to get a tattoo?
Yes, because in our studio we do not perform any procedures on people who are not yet eighteen years old. We also do not consider parental consent for tattooing a minor.
2. Does getting a tattoo hurt?
This question comes up very often, but the answer is not straightforward. It all depends on the individual pain threshold of each person being tattooed. Additionally, the location of the tattoo also matters. Areas like the feet or ribs are somewhat more sensitive to pain and interference compared to, for instance, the biceps or shoulders. Nevertheless, the tattooing time is bearable, and surely you will manage as well.
3. How much does a tattoo cost?
You must remember that the cost of a tattoo depends on a couple of factors, including:
- Size
- Design
- Style
- Placement
- Skin type
My website was designed with this in mind. Subpages STYLES and PORTFOLIO have an advanced search system.
To make it easier for me specify what type of tattoo you are interested in before sending a request for a quote. Remember that I always give a price range, because:
There is time before the session to clarify everything and discuss technical issues you may not be aware of. I’m here to advise you on the best possible choice.
- For a preliminary quote, make sure that you send me your design idea. The more detailed you describe your tattoo, the more accurate a quote I will be able to give you.
- If you think you need to discuss your tattoo in person, make an appointment with me for a consultation in the studio.
Before you fill in my contact forms, read through my list of FAQs below, and see if that answers any of your questions before booking a consultation.
4. Looking for a tattoo studio, what should I pay attention to?
First and foremost, familiarize yourself with the works of tattoo artists at different places. Not every studio will be able to create a tattoo in your dream style. Also, pay attention to the sterility and hygiene of the studio you plan to choose, so you can feel comfortable and safe during each session. In our studio, we work only with the highest quality equipment, and every new client receives individual care and a guarantee of sterile instruments and a disinfected area.
5. Do you send the tattoo design before doing it?
We do not send or distribute tattoo designs in advance because we strive to create each project individually for each client. The tattoo design usually emerges during the session before tattooing or during the first session. Don’t worry if you want to make slight modifications to the design during the first session, as in our studio we want each of our works to fully resonate with you, and we are confident that we will achieve the core. We are open to all proposals, so we will do everything in our power to dispel your doubts and propose a creative solution.
6. How to prepare for the session?
There are a few very important tips you should follow before you come to our tattoo studio. Mainly, a few days before getting a tattoo, try to properly moisturize and regenerate the area of the body that will be tattooed. It is very important for the skin to be nourished, soft, and elastic, without irritations. Additionally, remember not to tan before the scheduled session, and do not consume alcohol the day before. On the day of your appointment with us, get plenty of sleep, eat a nutritious breakfast in the morning, and do not wear your favorite clothes, as they may get stained with ink during the session. Wear something comfortable, loose, and clean. Most importantly, relax, unwind, and come to us fully motivated to create a true masterpiece on your body.
7. What if I don’t have an idea for a tattoo?
First of all, start looking for inspiration and ideas on the Internet. There you will find a plethora of various designs and sketches. Additionally, follow our works on social media; perhaps one of them will fascinate you enough that you will want to draw inspiration from it. We sincerely advise you not to be guided solely by fashion or catalog designs. Rather, focus on individualism and your own vision, which will surely emerge sooner or later.
8. Cover up tattoo – do you perform covering up an existing tattoo with another?
Yes, we deal with covering a tattoo with another pattern and approach this commission as individually and seriously as creating each piece from scratch. After sending us photos of the current tattoo or presenting it personally in our studio, we will be able to ultimately determine whether we will undertake its covering. It is important that you let your tattoo artist speak in terms of changing the tattoo, as experienced professionals in this industry are more aware of the whole situation and have the necessary knowledge and skills that will certainly pay off during the cover-up process.
9. What do I need to know about covering one tattoo with another?
Above all, you must remember that a cover-up will be significantly larger than the original version of your tattoo. Moreover, it is not possible to cover a dark-colored tattoo with a light one, but in most cases, this is not a significant obstacle. Before you proceed to cover a tattoo, you must also remember that it is often a time-consuming process that cannot be done without several sessions of laser removal. It is therefore important that you make a conscious decision to cover the current tattoo and visit our studio even before starting the cover-up process. Then every good tattoo artist will be able to present you with an approximate individual scenario related to covering the tattoo.
10. Can I use a tattoo to hide my scar?
Yes, it is possible to cover a scar by performing a tattoo within its area. It often happens that a well-integrated scar in the pattern is completely masked by the new artwork on your body. However, there is one condition for tattooing on scars; they must be at least several years old. Fresh scars mean that the skin around them is still working, which can lead to deformation of the performed tattoo.
11. How to properly care for a fresh tattoo?
First of all, you must know that the healing of a tattoo lasts from 2 to 4 weeks. This time varies depending on the individual predispositions and physiological characteristics of each of our clients. Every action performed by you during the healing period is extremely important, as it significantly affects the final quality of the tattoo. Even the best-executed work on your body may not look as effective if you do not take care of it yourself. So, what should you do?
- For about 72 hours after getting the tattoo, do not consume alcohol or other substances or drugs that raise blood pressure, as they can cause profuse bleeding. Extreme cases may involve even the spreading of pigment under the skin or its complete rejection.
- Take proper care of the hygiene of the tattooed area and at least 3 – 4 times a day thoroughly wash the skin with clean hands using lukewarm water and hypoallergenic soap. It is important that you do not soak the freshly done tattoo.
- After safely washing, gently dry the tattoo using a disposable paper towel. The skin should be matte and immediately protected.
- Not earlier than 24 hours, use a tattoo care cream.
- Make sure not to contaminate the fresh tattoo but at the same time allow it to breathe, so do not use dressings or bandages that can cause various types of irritation.
- During the healing period of the tattoo, refrain from using a tanning bed, swimming pool, or sauna.
- Remember to avoid wearing tight clothes that will rub against the tattoo, irritate it, and block air movement.
- Each of these tips is essential to ensure that your freshly made tattoo is properly protected and cared for. The guarantee of a beautiful and well-maintained tattoo for years is to befriend protective creams containing sunscreen and use them at every possible opportunity. All the information we have included above is very important not only for the appearance of your new tattoo but also for health and safety. Non-compliance with them may result in damage, the appearance of scars or defects, fading, or even infection. If you are not entirely sure if you are doing everything correctly during the healing time of the tattoo and have any concerns or doubts, feel free to contact us or visit our studio. We will not leave you without providing assistance or sharing proven tips with you.
12. Tattoo and diseases – is diabetes a contraindication to getting a tattoo?
Yes, diabetes is a contraindication to getting a tattoo. This is due to the fact that diabetics struggle with a disrupted wound healing process, which can ultimately affect the quality of the tattoo. We want to be honest with our clients and openly talk about the fact that in the case of diabetes, we are not able to guarantee the desired tattoo effect. We also want to emphasize that diabetics are at risk of many complications during the tattooing process, and despite our greatest efforts for sterility and hygiene, we cannot exclude the appearance of edema or various inflammatory states that can lead to an increased risk of infection of our client with bacteria, viruses, or fungi.
13. Allergic reactions of the tattooed person
Allergic reactions are occurring more frequently these days, and the possibility of their occurrence is very likely in practically any situation in our lives. When deciding to get a tattoo, it is worth considering that despite a previous test on a small area of the body, an allergy may appear, for example, from the amount of dye introduced, as well as from the needles themselves. We want to emphasize that both the tattoo artist and the tattooed person in many cases are not able to predict all the allergic reactions of the body.
14. Do I need to make an appointment in advance to get a tattoo?
Each of our clients should book a convenient date for their first session well in advance. You can contact us via the contact form, email, SMS, or phone call.
